GSFC's Process Asset Library

The left-hand menu on the PAL main page (and repeated here at left) allows you to find assets in the Process Asset Library (PAL) in multiple ways. The table below shows how these access routes, or "views", can help you locate the assets you need. Try it out – click on a View!

View	What the view provides
*Assets by Category:*	All PAL assets are organized into four categories: Project Management, Product Development, Organizational Support, and Acquisition. Viewing assets by one of these categories will show you, in graphic format, how the assets are related. You can view or download the assets you need right from the diagrams.
Project Management	Assets related to the initial planning, on-going management, and completion activities for a software development project.
Product Development	Assets related to technical activities for product development; ranging from initial system engineering to sustaining engineering / maintenance.
Organizational Support	Assets related to cross-cutting project activities such as configuration management and to organization-level activities such as training and process engineering.
Acquisition	Assets related to the process of obtaining products or services via contract or direct purchase.
Assets by Role	A list of the roles of personnel working on a typical software project, showing the process assets needed for each role and training courses appropriate for the role
Assets by Tailoring	A set of process assets that have been created or "tailored" for use on a specified project or in a specified domain (e.g., flight software)
Assets by Type	A set of all assets of the same type; e.g., all "templates" or all "checklists"
All Approved Assets	A full list of all process assets approved the SED Configuration Control Board (CCB), all tailored assets approved by SED Branch-level CCBs, and all assets approved and controlled by the EPG. These assets are available in MS Office and PDF formats.
Newly Approved Assets	A list of all process assets recently approved by the SED Configuration Control Board (CCB), by a SED Branch-level CCB, or by the GSFC EPG. These assets are available in MS Office and PDF formats.
Index of Assets	A full index into all PAL assets -- whether they are currently approved and available, under development, or not yet started.
